Here’s a really interesting video about a glass photo image of Abraham Lincoln being repaired. I guess it’s full technical identification is an Alexander Hesler/George Ayres interpositive. Too bad its only 30 seconds. I would have liked to see more details. Really interesting:
Photographic conservation is so interesting. Has anyone else seen photos in a light box like this? Is this a highly unusual set up?

These restorations are truly amazing! While I don’t currently have any art or photos that need restoration, I will certainly keep this site in mind if I ever meet somebody who does. My in-laws have a ton of valuable old art on their walls and I’m sure I will be mentioning this site to them.
Great job on repairing this historical documentation and photography. Its amazing what professionals can do. Do not try this at home! I’m looking forward to seeing more updates from this blog.

This information is really useful. I have not heard much about this before. I do have many childhood photographs which are discolored and faded. Also my grand mom’s photo too need restoration as it has a very old look. Thanks for sharing this information.
